Go2Andaman: ferry booking, redesigned for more conversions.

Go2Andaman helps travellers plan trips to the Andaman Islands, and its online ferry booking is where many of those trips begin. We redesigned the whole booking experience on web and mobile: searching for a ferry, choosing one, checking out, and every error, wait and payment state in between.

The challenge

Island hopping, without the anxiety.

Most visitors to the Andamans travel between islands: Port Blair to Havelock, Havelock to Neil Island, and back. Sailings are limited, popular ferries sell out, and each operator works differently. Some issue tickets instantly, while others confirm hours later.

Booking all of that online meant juggling several trips, dates and passengers, often on a phone with patchy signal. Every moment of doubt was a reason to leave the site and call an agent instead.

The redesign had to:

01

Make island hopping one booking

Plan every leg of the trip in a single search and a single checkout.

02

Show what you’ll get

Availability, instant or delayed tickets, and sold-out ferries, before anyone pays.

03

Turn errors into next steps

Every problem explained where it happens, with a way forward.

04

Help people finish

Clear progress, reassurance and a gentle nudge to complete the booking.

The flow

Search, choose, check out. Nothing in between.

Search panel on the homepage with Single Trip and Multiple Trip tabs, two trip rows and a required-field error on the second trip, above ferry operator logos. Choose a Ferry results with a date strip, the selected Makruzz Pearl ferry, rating, discounted fare and instant booking note. Sort by menu open with price and time options and a filter by ferry operator list. Edit trip panel over the results with from, to, date and passenger fields, a Modify search button, and an error reading No Ferries available for this sector on this date. Your Selection panel showing the selected ferry, times, adult and infant fares, a Free Cancellation 24 hours guaranteed banner and ticket delivery notes. Review and Checkout step with Add Contact Details and Add Traveller Details forms beside an order summary with total price and amount to pay now. Checkout form with an invalid phone number highlighted in red and a date of birth error on an infant traveller. A Just a heads up dialog explaining that one of the trips does not offer instant booking, with Proceed and Choose a different ferry options.

Every state, designed

No dead ends, even when things go wrong.

Ferries sell out, networks drop and payments fail. We designed for those moments as carefully as the happy path, so travellers always know what happened and what to do next.

Loading screen with the Go2Andaman mark and the message Please wait while we fetch ferries for you.
Fetching ferriesA branded wait while results come in from each operator, with the trips being searched shown above.
Ferry cards with instant and non-instant booking notes, and a faded card with a Sold out button.
Instant booking & sold outGreen for tickets issued instantly, amber for tickets that arrive later, and sold-out ferries faded but still visible.
An Oooops dialog reading A network connection broke between us and the ferry operator, with Retry and Restart search buttons.
Connection lostA plain explanation and two ways forward: retry, or restart the search.
Your payment is successful page listing each trip with its ticket status.
Payment successfulConfirmation with the status of every ticket on the itinerary.
Your payment has failed page with the order number, a Retry payment button and a phone number to call.
Payment failedThe order number, a one-tap retry and a number to call, so a failed payment isn’t a lost booking.

Design decisions

Small details that keep people booking.

Always know where you are

A three-step progress bar on every screen, with completed steps ticked off, so the end is always in sight.

Availability before you click

Seats left for each day sit right on the date strip, so nobody taps into a sold-out day.

Instant or later, never a surprise

Every ferry says whether its tickets are issued instantly, and a heads-up appears before paying if any leg isn’t.

Reassurance where it counts

Free cancellation, delivery times and social proof like “Made the ferry of choice by 20 people already” sit beside the decision.

Errors that explain the fix

Messages appear next to the field or leg they’re about, in plain words, with a clear way forward.

One itinerary, one status

After paying, each leg shows its own ticket status, so a delay on one ferry doesn’t cast doubt on the whole trip.

What travellers say

Five stars for a booking that just works.

Go2Andaman’s ferry booking website is really good. It shows the consolidated list of all operators with clear details of the timings and seat selection. The UI of the website is great. We booked the ferry through them without any hassle.

Hassle free, uncomplicated website. Aggregates all the ferry services and allows you to book tickets at the same price as that on the website of the individual company. Much recommended.
